For me, this was the most frustrating Zelda game ever and one of the most frustrating games overall, but I still loved it. I think the game looks spectacular but still something about the design makes the gameplay inaccurate. Maybe Link's limbs are too short or the cartoony animations and colors of the game make it harder to realize the game in a third dimension. Maybe I needed Navi to help me out in the dungeouns. Other than that it follows the working formula of the previous Zeldas with some new ideas. The final hours of the game really made me change my mind about the game and forgive it for all the curse words I had to shout while playing through it. The game just gets so beautiful and epic at the end that all its flaws become unimportant to me and it really is another amazing Zelda title.
- Presentation
The Zelda series takes a more child-friendly approach with this title, but still has appeal to more mature audiences. - Graphics
Beautiful cel-shaded graphics and cartoony animations make it enjoyable to watch but somewhat harder to maneuver. - Sound
There isn't a song here that got stuck on my head but I remember I loved the stuff that was in the last levels of the game. - Gameplay
Some gameplay mechanics had been updated like the boomerang and it all plays quite nicely apart from the issues I had with the visual presentation. - Lasting Appeal
There's plenty to do, as there always is in a Zelda title.
