A fair expansion to get if you're into this sort of stuff.

Just to get me started, here's a review I wrote in 2004. It got published in Gamesmaster Magazine Philippines

The Sims 2: Open For Business is the third expansion pack to the Sims 2 series, and the new business mode adds a whole new dimension of gameplay to those who use it. One of the things that was always odd with the Sims 2 games, is that you never actually see your character working. The carpool comes to pick them up, the sims are gone for a couple hours, then they come home. With thiis expansion, Sims can now start their own business, buy buying commercial lots or create the ultimate Sari-Sari store right in your Sim's home. The choices of what your business does is up to you, and you can hire (and fire) employees to help you. All of these new features work exceptionally well together because of a new interface added to your screen that makes it easy and fun to run your five star restaurant (or flower shop, or toy shop, or....)

Now, all of these features work great, but some of the bugs of the Sims 2 haven't been addressed. The loading screens can still take forever, which makes it a pain if your business isn't on your home lot. Also, the camera sometimes lags, especially when there are a lot of people in the same lot, which can make it hard to get around trying to please your customers and employees.

Luckily though, the fun factor of this expansion pack overcomes these bugs, so get this expansion pack and start working!
