Breathing Fear is an indie game released in 2016. It bolsters pixel graphics and a puzzle-horror theme. It would make one reminisce on the point and click adventure mysteries of the 90's, however Breathing Fear, a 2016 game, has a fundamental flaw which there is no getting around, which makes the whole experience that much more unappealing.
Breathing Fear is linear to a huge fault, sure, you can go wherever you want but you won't start uncovering the mysteries until you have fetch quested your way round the game. For example, there is a hidden area that has been hidden away and you can use an axe to gain access, however, you can see the axe in the game beforehand and are absolutely not able to obtain it until this scripted sequence has been triggered. It is truly the nail in the coffin of the whole game frankly and makes the game such a slog to play.
The soundtrack is minimal but moderately effective, the graphics are unoriginal and muddy, but it does the job. The game-play is as simple as moving around a house and pressing A could be. This games complete meltdown comes with this insanely linear progression and it makes Breathing Fear, well... just about as boring as can be.
