I have yet to meet anyone in real life that actually likes KoToR or has even heard of it. When I speak to friends who have played it they all find it really crap and quit after 5 mins. I did the esact same thing when I first played it back when it was launched for the PC. I just couldn't get used to the combat and found there to be too many problems. So I bought it off Steam and spent the past month or so trying to play through and got to the whole HK47 and just past Tatooine before I just couldn't be bothered anymore. I mean unlike Mass Effect which was another game I had to force myself to play KoToR has just unplayable combat which stopped be from going any further.

I hate all this pausing crap and I hate how the combat is done by clicking on icons above them and you have to spend ages scrolling through the abilties. You just end up standing still and clicking on buttons which just isn't fun. It feels really stiff and really boring. What woulda been better is if they had combat like the force Unleashed which feels heroic and Star Warsy.

I found the voice acting to be ok but nothing special and the writing was just meh. I never cared for the story and they never made the acting seem convincing. It's like if someone was to read you a book when you were a kid to fall asleep. thats what i did alot of the time, just drifitng off listening to what boring crap they had to say next. Everyone goes on about HK47 being a great character but no he ain't, Shodan is a goo character, Alyx is a good character. HK47 is one of them stupid band wagon things like The Cake is a Lie that everyone jumps on to feel kool.

So the story never interested me to carry on further into the game and tbh the controls and the fact that the game feels like a bad port doesn't help. The camera controls are horrible where really you can only control it looking around your character. You can't zoom in or out and you can't look up or down which feels really odd. Theres no jumping which makes youf eel stuck to the ground and just breaks th eimmersion for me. The controls on the keybaord arn't mapped great and it feels arse backwards as fuck. On top of that theres so mant weird bugs and the game likes to crash alot and theres no built in windowed mode which is a sign of a poor port.

The level design is so linear and really restrictive, you'd think they would then have packed in lots of detail but theres no kool east eggs or anything. It's just really bland, generic boring linear level design. Theres no thrills and theres no exploration that you want from an RPG. Then you have the loading screens you'll hit constantly which are another game breaker for me and really piss me off.

I dunno what people were thinking when they gave this a high score. Sure it might have been good on the Xbox for the time but on the PC I played much better games back then and to top it all off it was a poor port.
