I love the Sandbox Editor (even though it's very buggy) because it's like a mix between Garry's Mod and an SDK. However other than this Crysis doesn't offer much and people go on about the graphics but Crytek didn't put them to much use. The character models and faces for example are really ugly and just look horrible. Other than the first face you see looking at you the rest just look really plastic and fake and animate so poorly. When you're looking at Crysis, sure on a tech level it has amazing detail but the game is just so bland to look at, in your mind it looks worse than like Diablo 3 or something on lower tech engines that have the art style to back it up.
Crysis is basically Far Cry which is basically Halo but they've taken things more from Halo like the regenerating shields and health and the whole suit thing. The levels are linear, but rather open and theres vehicles places around. It only lets you carry two guns of each type and you can loot the enemies weapons, even the aliens. However Like Halo and Far Cry they made the same BIG mistake and considering they made Far Cry I don't understand why they havn't learnt yet. In Halo the Flood came in and ruined it, in Far Cry the Mutants came in and ruined it and in Crysis the Aliens come in and ruin it. I say ruin but I was bored a long time before because the Koreans are really unfun to fight as they absorb bullets like sponge and Water.
The story is lackluster and theres no characters to ever care about, which I think it is weird that they made Warhead based on another character in Crysis and at no point do you ever care for him. I think I could over look all the bad if the game has a great story but Crysis is at no point interesting. Atleast put a love story in the game or something.... but no NOTHING!
The vehicles control like crap, specially the flying vehicle at the end and at no point is the gameplay ever fun apart from one shining point in the game which was the tank level. There are some nice looking areas like inside the Alien ship thing but the gameplay wasn't fun against the aliens.
The multiplayer was just lackluster and tacked on, just your standard capture point gameplay, nothing special and with the poor gunplay of the game you wont want to play it for long. Theres not many people playing the multiplayer and I just don't see the point getting into it when theres better out there.
I give Crysis 2 stars for the fun I had in the Sandbox Editor but the rest of the game is boring and complete crap.
