Great to be playing the British!

I'm from the UK and far too often are we playing the Americans and I think it's great to be playing the British. I don't think the SAS and the British army get enough credit and nice it's to see one of the best games this generation give them the lime light for once. This game is just a real linear cinematic experience from start to finish and it never gets stale. Normally FPS games are a one trick Pony but Call of Duty 4 really mixes the gameplay up each level. Theres so many good moments like from the tanker at the start sinking and having to escape from shock moments you never thought they'd do in a game, which I wont spoil. The best level in the game has to be the SAS Chernobyl level where it mixes it up really nicely between stealth and action.

The graphics are great and the sound is really amazing with the guy who did the Metal Gear Solid 2 and onwards music doing it for Call of Duty 4. The controls are spot on and the performance is great, you'll have no problems running this game on an older machine. These textures do seem to be the weakest point of the game but it's not really an issue. The Steam version works great, no problems with it and I really love that service for buying games.

The Multiplayer isn't my personal cup of tea as it is really arcadey and I prefer my online shooters to be tactical and more skill based like a Ranbow Six 1 - 3, Counter Strike or even America's Army 3. However lots of people are having fun with it and it is highly rated so that adds great value to the game too.

Call of Duty 4 is an amazing game with a great cinematic story experience that isn't predictable as it has a shocking moment right at the start which is saying "all bets are off" basically. Such an intense experience start to finish and though it's only 6 hours long, you feel that it is just the right length because it had more packed into it that most games.
