When I came across this game I was completely suspecting it to be garbage I mean come on let's go down the shit list: Anime cover... check, Indecipherable title... oh yeah, no prior knowledge of the game from any outlet whatsoever... yeppers. All that being said this turned out to pretty good so far particularly for it's uses of tried and true gameplay styles. So the basic story takes place on earth (which is a nice change) in about the 1800's you start off in london as boy looking for his lost adventurer father. This story has been done but it's nice to see it paired with the earth setting and it suits the standard gameplay style quite well. For the most it seems to be a classic FF style turnbased combat system but enough stuff has been refined to make it easily enjoyable particularly taking cues from games like FFX and having the battle turn order displayed for better strategy. The other interesting gimmick it borrows is from the underloved gem "Skies of Arcadia" in that it has airship combat which as in SoA was a good to slip bigger setpieces and vary up gameplay. Speaking of the setpieces the graphics in this game are pretty nice for a DS games very similar to FFIII and FFIV remakes and it's a style that suits the type of well. Tecmo and Ignition while not go to developers definitely have had their hits in my long playlist of games and I'm happy to say that this title holds and exceeds what I expect from them.
Final word: I'd say buy it if you're a RPG fan or just looking for something while it's not incredibly deep it's definitely perfect fodder for a few long plane/bus rides, it's good a t drawing you in also making it a great couch game as well.
