The console sequel to the successful Super Mario 3D Land on the 3DS. 3D World this time however uses the same formula from Super Mario Brothers 2 (USA) with some multiplayer layouts from the New Super Mario Brothers games. While it does be a bigger game with better control, better graphics, and better music, its not as robust or heavily grounded as 3D Land. The level design rather forgiving, is however its greatest weakness; many levels from this game try its best to act not in a 2 Dimensional perspective by having EXTREMELY long anchors of field but its nothing interesting or flavoring to the experience. Instead I thought 3D World could of benefited by being a 2D game without the added inclusion of long, boring, and flat level terrains, but they included that just for the multiplayer ability. The New Super Mario Brothers games didn't have outstanding multiplayer and its not any better, here. When you have 3 or 4 players the game becomes a total nightmare with the awkward camera placement especially when players decide to be out of the screen and suddenly the camera has no indication on who to focus on.
Other than that 3D World is still a pleasant time, its not as intuitive or investing as 3D Land but its a rather nice distraction to keep your mind off of things. If the game were a little better with its unnecessarily bland and wonky level design and multiplayer I think we could be seeing a different game, here. But as it stands its nothing more than a bronze trophy for the softest fur of cats.
