When Prototype was announced, it was about two years ago. Now, we gamers can finally play it. The first thing you will notice when you start the game is you're sense of speed. You can go so fast and travel around the city pretty quickly. The city though, is not that intriguing. Though it is pretty big, a lot of the buildings are bland and many are repeated.
The next thing that you will notice is of course, the powers you will be able to hack, slash, and smash with. The powers range from a whip that cuts straight through people, to hammerfists (which are like having hands of rock), to having a full body of armor. All of these powers are upgradeable with survivability, combat, movement, and consuming abilities also upgradeable.
The story of Prototype is about a man who wakes up in a morgue named Alex Mercer. it is pretty good, with some twist and turns thrown in there to make your head spin. One thing that makes the story better though, is the web of intrigue. The web of intrigue is a web of thoughts of the some of the people that you have consumed, that tells the back story. There are 131 of these in the game, which adds some replay value.
The sound of the game is also pretty good. With decent voice acting, an ok soundtrack, and some good explosions, gunshots, and screams to boot.
The graphics of the game are mixed. With Alex looking great with awesome animations. The civilians and military on the other hand, are meh. The framerate seems to never drop, even when things heat up and there are hundreds of civilians, monsters, and helicopters on screen.
