Still getting drunk around the galaxy

I usually tend to make my own mind before purchasing a game and totally ignore the buzz. I read reviews and opinions after I experienced it first hand. Sometimes, to check if it's worth my dough, I watch a bit of let's play and ignore the comments. Although my rules of acquisition are a bit more complex, I got ME Andromeda for a single reason: if it has Mass Effect in the title, I play it first and complain later.

It's impossible to give ME Andromeda a single sentence: it's good or lame, 1 or 5 stars, buy it or don't. One moment you find yourself breathless in the vault, the next you find yourself asking if what you see or hear is the dumbest thing on earth. I'm a Mass Effect aficionado, not a lore expert, but still my retina is stung by crass inconsistencies with the ME world. Some you can live with, some we'll get you mad. Very mad. For instance, in what parallel Mass Effect universe some pissed (twice) double crossed krogans will just pack their stuff and go? Or how on earth salarians, asari and turians would just sit and wait for a human Pathfinder to save their sorry alien hides? Or how come angarans stare at you like you were a circus curiosity, 'tho a human colony is just a couple of jumps across? (these are from the very beginning, I'm going as easy I can on spoilers).

If you allow them, a nice story, some catchy dialogue options and some sweet easter eggs will make up for above complaints.

Combat is fortunately easier to jot down: decent boss fights, pretty good AI, awesome crafting, tons of loot, sweet Black Widow, nice skills and perks, difficulty levels beautifully balanced.

Overall, ignore my stars, ignore all reviews, buy it at your own risk, enjoy and curse altogether.

The (i)logical conclusion: if they waited for 600 years to get out of cryo, they can wait 'till I finish my drink.
