Video games and super heroes are a great mix. There are many games that have blended these two concepts and be very successful. Now that Infamous comes along, it changes up the game, makes it more involving, and nearly perfects the idea of playing a super hero.
The story is told mostly through a comic book style which blends in well with the mood of the game. It would have been nice to have more Cut-scenes, but the comic book story telling is different. The story starts out basic, but gives the story room to develop and take what could have been a linear story and really turns it on it's head.
You play as a super hero who controls electricity, but that may sound boring and limiting, but it's actually a gateway into different ways to manipulate the environment with your abilities. You can travel around the city on rails, throw giant electrically based grenades, restore power to generators. Taking a page from recent games, you can climb on buildings which helps you explore because although you can hover, you can't fly in the game.
What really is the shining part of the game is the city. This is a city that will really speak to you. It will changebased on your actions, whether for the best or for the worst. Citizens will worship you and make you feel heroic for doing good, or they'll treat you like an outcast any chance they get if your doing a bad job. The morale choices in the game play a big part. Depending if you're good or bad, you'll get different missions from people. Morale choices also affects your look and what play type you'll get.
Infamous and taken a giant leap forward for super hero games and is now the top of the bar. You defianately need to play this if you have a PS3, it will undoubtedly be one of the next big namesfor Sony, like God of War is.
