When you think of Ghostbusters and video games, there isn't a whole lot that comes to mind. After a almost uncertain developement fase, Ghostbusters has finally released, but not as a movie tie in. That's because Ghostbusters the game is a sequel to the movies.
Anyone who wasa huge fan of the movies back when they were a little kid is going to feel right at home with this. The game has so many refferences to the movies it's mind-boggling. You play as the nameless hero who never speaks, which is good because you want to hear the Ghostbusters themselves. Not only did the actors lend their likeness, but their voices as well. Even the same writers Harold Ramis and Dan Akroyd came back to write the script.
You spend most of the game hutning, and catching ghosts and although it sounds like it's going to be boring after awhile, the developers put in a effort to keep things fresh, you'llsolves puzzles, or sometimes you'll have to switch weapons in order to take out a shield from enemies, or sometimes the ghosts will try to mess with your head.
Now if you heard there was going to be multi-player and cringed, don't be too afraid, rather than just a slapped together death match/ teeam deathmatch thrown together, you team up with other ghostbusters to catch ghosts, protect slime from enemy ghosts or try to catch as many slimers as possible.
Ghostbusters could have been a mess of a game and just another bad film to game adaptation, but it's not. Thanks to some smart design, and awsome writing, and love for anything Ghostbusters, this game truly stands out.
