The Godfather was known as a masterpiece in film, and it was followed up by yet another masterpiece which set the stage for sequels in cinema. Now, the Godfather was released to generally positive reviews and was a very enjoyable game, so where did they go wrong with the sequel?
Like the first Godfather game, you'll create your own character, drive around a city, and beat the crap out of people your protecting for money. You'll be doing this all over again, but this time you get to do it as a don. The Don view is the newest, and most fun part of the game for me, because it adds a bit of micro-management and gives you a break from all the killing. Businesses don't just give you money anymore, they give you perks like body armor and armored cars, making owning all of them more important and pivotal to your character.
The game starts to show it's developers efforts about half-way through the game. There are lots of glitches to find during the gun fights and exploring of the cities/levels. Your buddies that you hire will get stuck on ANYTHING doors, fences, cars, even the walls, and these guys are suppose to help you in a gun fight! (Which they do a poor job at). Even the gun fights seem oafish, most guys will just stand and shoot at you, ducking once and awhile.
Multi-player these days seem to be tacked on to just about every game that gets released. This game is no exception to this rule. The only thing different in this multi-player is you get to play in the Don View, which is boring because you get to watch everyone else play the game. (might be a good or bad thing).
As a fan of the last Godfather game, this one won't stand up, even the original was okay. I wouldn't say rent this game, because getting pissedand frustrated at bugs isn't a game...unless it's centipede.
