American Yakuza

Beatdown is no question a poorly designed game, but I still play it to this day. There is so much character customizing in it, you can recruit tons of really different people into your army, you can mug people, beat info out of people, murder people in this kinda open world city. It's open world in the yakuza sense. Now that i think about it the similarities are kind of shocking. Beatdown is really nothing more than bad American yakuza.  When I say "bad" that's what a normal person would think about this game, but I fucking love it. My PS2 is still hooked up till this day for the sole reason of playing beatdown from time to time.

A little history before I go. Now a days every day there is a new argument about which of to games are better, blur or split-second, gta 4 or sants row 2, prototype or infamous. Back during the crazy beat-em up reviaval that lasted like 4 months, the question was beatdown or a game called spikeout. Beatdown is a million times better than spikeout.
