I'm going to assume you're read the wiki to this game... if you haven't... go back and do it.  I'll wait here...

Go on...  Here's a link!

Back?  Good...  on we go.

I found the story very interesting... like a book you can't put down and stay up way too late reading.  That's what I found happening as I played through this game.  It would be 1 or 2 in the morning, and I kept telling myself... just one more mission, or a quick side mission... and then another and another.  The "cool" factor for me is the good/bad choice you have, as I'm sure you read in the wiki, at certain points in the game you can make choices that affect your karma, and they lead you down a path that affect both the story, and the way you're treated by the various people you encounter.  Many other actions in the game affect your karma and in turn, the type of powers you get and even the way you look!  It adds some replay value to the game as you can play through a second time and go the other way and see how things change, and how they stay the same.

Not many complaints with the gameplay...  pretty straight forward for an open-world game... you have your main quests and story line laid out for you, and you're free to go after it... and on the way there are all kinds of "distractions" as I like to call them.  First are the side quests that clear the area of enemies, gain you XP, and sometimes affect your karma...  I found them to be a little repetitive at times, but not to the point where I didn't want to do them... there's about 5 or 6 different types, and most of them don't take too long to get through so the repetitiveness I could live with.

There's also 2 different types of collectables one of which increases you more power capacity ( kinda like Mana ), and the other gives you more story, bit by bit. What I liked most about the collectables was the mechanism to track them down... you aren't forced to scour every bit of the world to find little hidden power-ups... if you're close enough to one, and you press down L3 on the controller... the collectibles momentarily "blip" on your mini-map...  you just go pick em up.  I've spent way more than enough time hunting down little collectibles, I found this refreshing... you still need to explore, but you don't need to waste time climbing up and down every building.

The controls at first were a little awkward for me... but not that I've had some time with it... it's nothing you can't get used to fast.  Especially since the game unrolls powers to you, so you aren't forced into memorizing the whole play book off the bat.

The cover feature of the game was pretty slick too.. you can pretty much hide behind any building, wall,  car or object you can fit behind... player beware... cars blow up, and trash cans make shitty hiding spots!

Also, the city looks great!  Climbing up buildings, jumping around and sliding on train tracks has never looked so good! There really isn't much to talk about here... they did a great job!

The Skinny!
This is a fantastic game... no if, ands or buts about it!  You owe it to yourself to at least get some time with it!  Buy it, borrow it, rent it, steal it, break into your neighbours house and play it while they're sleeping!

Play This Game!
