Guitar Hero II is the sequel to the original Guitar Hero, the game that re-popularized the music and rhythm genre. Guitar Hero II takes everything from the first game, and expands making a bigger and better game.
A few gameplay tweaks have been made to the game. Hammer-ons and pull-offs are now easier to do, and there are now three button chords. The game also includes a new "Pro-Face Off" mode. Instead of switching between parts like in the regular "Face Off" mode, you and your opponent both both play all of the notes, making competition more fair. There is also a solo career mode. Of course, these modes would be ruined if the setlist wasn't good. Luckily, GUitar Hero's setlist is really great, ranging from Classic Rock, to Metal, To Modern Rock. Some of the songs including, "Sweet Child O' MIne," "Free BIrd," "War PIgs," "Woman," "Heart-Shaped Box," "Tripping on a Hole in a Paper Heart," and "Last Child." Then again, there's the occasional bad song, like "Tattooed Love Boys." Then there's the Bonus songs, including Freezepop, Drist, and even Strong Bad of Homestarrunner fame.
Guitar Hero II is not just the original game with a new setlist. It improves on the original, improving the gameplay, adding new modes, and including an amazing setlist. If you liked the original, then by all means, go get this game.
