Normally I don't like puzzle games, but something about the original Portal made me feel compelled to try it. I fell in love after just a few minutes and wanted more. Portal 2 is exactly what I wanted and more. The story really plays an important role this time and its done rather cleverly. This is aided by the amazing voice work that provides tons of plot twists and sarcasm. I don't want to spoil anything, but the story will keep you engaged until the very end. Gameplay wise Portal 2 is a whole lot of more. More puzzles, more toys, more large environments. The game is also significantly longer than the first, which was one of the few complaints I had with Portal 1. The graphics, while not anything to blow your mind, still hold up and the Source engine still churns out good looking games; it's clear that Valve has mastered the tech. The only real downside to the game I found was a real diminishing returns after the first play through. There is a fun co-op mode which can be played local split screen or online and I had a lot of fun messing around with the mode, but that's really all the game has to offer. There's a developmental commentary if you're interested in how the game was made, but once you hear all the jokes and know the story/ puzzle solutions, it can be tough to play again. Still, its an amazing game and a blast while it lasts. If you fell in love with the first, just go buy this.
