The big surprise announcement of the 2016 E3 annual convention from Ubisoft was none other than Steep, which to many was kind of confusing. This was a game almost no one had been asking for, and yet here was a pretty clean game that looked like had potential to reignite the nostalgia of SSX. i was pretty hyped when it was announced, I didn't know what to actually expect. But Steep is a different kind of snowboarding game, Steep is to SSX as SKATE is to Tony Hawk. Now we get it, you decided to make a more realistic on snow sports in general, even sledding, and have tried to craft a game that is not only about trying to get the sickest combo, but having fun in the incredible environment with friends. But that alone is not enough to carry a $60 game to be considered good, so lets see what makes this game good and bad.
Character Customization: Steep actually offers a pretty fun and goofy customization options to your character. You can't fully name and alter your characters face or hair, but you get to choose out of an array of 8 extreme sport athletes and then can decide what they are wearing. From their ski cap down to the boots. The game even boasts some goofy outfits and masks that your character can sport. Riding down the mountain as a Cheeseburger Head as ingredients look like they are going to spill everywhere was enough for me to actually have a good laugh. The customization aspect of the game is pretty much the only thing you unlock in the game other than Drop Zones, which will be described in the Gameplay section, and can be unlocked with the currency that you earn playing the game. So about that, what is even the point of the game?
