The Dishwasher: Dead Samuari is an interesting title in that its an effort from one young developer who was working as a dishwasher (ala Bruce Lee) at the time he conceived to idea. There are many modes here Story, Arcade, Online co-op, and Dish Challenge. The story is presented between levels using a comic book panels scrolling across the screen, its a nice touch to a story that is hard to follow (lets just say he is dead and he wants revenge in a zombie samuari sorta way).
The arcade mode allows you to play a single level (there are 50 in total but you unlock by surviving the previous level) to achieve the highest score possible. The Dish Challenge is like Horde or Nazi Zombies, in that you continue fighting and adding to your score until your health bar runs out.
The gameplay is straight forward with numerous weapons (including guns and guitars) to deal death in bloody and messy ways, but with a good variety of combo options. There is a combo meter which allows for high scores with greater combos. You will often times wear an enemy down and trigger the bloody mess kill which will have a random button appear above an enemy and once achieved The Dishwasher might rip a limb off and beat the enemy with it or cut him in half....you get the picture. There are a good variety of enemies and bosses. The level design looks great as well as the animations, blood, and special effects all are stylized and nice looking. The game plays well, its fun especially if you are the type of gamer who likes a challenge (it can be difficult) or if you like games like DMC or Ninja Gaiden you might even adapt and get past the hard parts if you like the graphics of games like Castle Crashers or Alien Hominid.
I feel this is good start for a promising new developer who is deserving of your support, buy it, enjoy it, its only 10 bones.
