Battlefield: Bad Company is just the second Battlefield game released on consoles, but this by far blows the first game away. Utilizing the newly developed frostbite engine, Bad Company adds a never before seen aspect of gameplay. Destructible environments. No longer can snipers hide behind windows, you can just destroy the wall they're hiding behind. With this innovation, strategies rapidly change to adjust to new environments created by the destruction.
Another new aspect to the series is the inclusion of a single-player campaign. It's good practise for newcomers to the series, as the enemy ai aren't stupid. They move around to take cover and adjust to your position of attack. That said, your friendly ai are almost always braindead. They just cannot seem to hit their target, they always miss. This leaves you with the burden of all the work. It's a good thing that they (friendly ai) or you'll be throwing your controller at the tv more times than not. As for the storyline, all I have to say that it's average, you either love it or hate it.
Now for the part that defines the Battlefield franchise. The multiplayer in this game is just fun. It sticks to the basic elements of the Battlefield series. There are five classes to choose from each bringing a different strength of the team; Assault, Demolition, Special Ops, Recon and Support. The maps are fairly balanced and there will always be a moment of sheer adrenaline that will force you to just get up and say wow. There are great hectic moment that you and your team will experience and most of the time the matches will be very close. This game encourages teamplay in order to succeed. In addition there are many different in-game awards for achieving certain milestones. This encourages further play for most completionists.
This game is a great blast. (Pardon the pun) The graphics aren't anything special, but you'll quickly overlook this when you'll out there blasting people to oblivion.
