In 2006, the PS3 launch was a failure, due to god awful games. But, there was a fun exclusive called Resistance from the creators of Ratchet and Clank, Insomniac games. Now, the long a waited sequel has game and it is better than the 1 game without a doubt. The story picks up right where the 1 game left Nathan Hale. The chimera has now left jolly old England, and now has now invaded the United States. Nathan Hale and the rest of the U.S forces now continue their fight against the Chimera. As a War story, Resistance 2 does a good job. The only real problem is the narrative is weak. There’s no Narrator like Rachael from the 1 game to keeps the game’s narrative strong. But, the story is still good, just has a weak Narrative. Like the last game, you’ll follow a linear path through the game, with little back tracking. You’ll be pushed from one epic fire fight to the next at a constant pace. Insomniac has made this sequel more modern by allowing players to hold only 2 weapons at a time and having onscreen health reaction instead of a health bar. The New weapons are great, with Weapons that feel satisfying like the Magnum that when shot, bullets can explode. The A.I for both NPC’s and enemies has also been increased. This makes fire fights more frantic than the first game. Enemies will take cover and make you think how for you to attack. You squad mates also have A.I increases. They won’t just stand around waiting to get shot and die; they’ll take cover and shoot when needed. After you finish the 10 hour story mode, you have multiplayer and it kicks ass. Up to 60 players can ducke it out on well deziened maps. You can also play with 7 other players for co-up that takes place in the resistance world. You play as 3 different character class and all are well balanced, and fun to play as. There’s enough content and gameplay to keep you playing Resistance 2 for months, if not years. Resistance 2 presentation is much better than the first game. The graphic are beautiful. Environments are varied and much bigger than before. There were some weird animation with stuff like water, but it’s not a big problem. The audio makes great use of the orcastrated music, and the voice acting solid. This probly the best thing that Sony’s console has on. Resistance 2 is much better than the 1 in every way. There are some things keeping from perfection, but it’s still a blast to play.
