A Servicable Addition to the Star Wars Universe

To any fan of Star Wars, new media for the franchise is a blessing. Whether it's good or not remains to be seen. Luckily, Star Wars: Force Unleashed is a great addition to George Lucas' mythos. For starters, the story is excellent. It has been said countless times before but that just means its true. It becomes apparent quite quickly that the writers were working diligently to create a story worthy of the Star Wars legacy. I like to think of it as proactivly appologizing for the abyzmal 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' CG film.

While spotty at times, the controls are servicable. The force powers are the biggest draw and they are right up there along with the story. As soon as you begin, you start to see Starkiller (the main character) as the dark jedi badass that we all expected him to be from the time the game was announced. The main problem with these force powers is that midway through the game, they become secondary. You begin to run into enemies that for whatever reason, are immuned to your badassery. This breaks you out of your 'I am a Jedi!' feeling rather quickly and to be honest, I started to wonder why I had some of the powers I was given If I wasn't able to use them effectively throughout the entire game.

All in all the game is a great addition to any Star Wars collection. The lightsaber fights are good, the force powers are as cool as you think they are and the story wraps up tightly (depending on your ending) and leaves you wanting more. Here is one game that could benefit from a sequal...too bad all those layoffs went down.
