Talking about Chaos Rings Omega is impossible without mentioning the previous game - Chaos Rings - on which it is built upon.
The gameplay is near identical with the inclusion of two buttons, one that triggers a battle and the other that prevents any random encounter.
The only major difference from the previous release is in the story. It starts in familiar ground, and stays there for the first few hours, but then it strays from the path layed by the previous game, with the ending section being memorable, which is significant being this a iOS and Android game.
This game is a prequel to Chaos Rings. Its premise starts with Vieg aboard a mysterious ship, being, soon after it, abducted and forced to participate in the Ark Arena Tournament with his pregnant wife, fighting for the life of his family.
The adjective "Great" attributed to both this game and the previous game are distinct, as the game although very similar have very different strenghts. The first game - Chaos Rings - is a technical marvel, with luxurious (concerning iOS and Android) graphics, a good plot and a gameplay that followed the classic japanese roleplaying games. Chaos Rings Omega, although it is very similar in terms of gameplay, and even pacing, takes a familiar plot and takes it to unknown territory and stays there to a fitting and surprising conclusion. It is not exageration to say that Chaos Rings Omega is the result of polishing the rough edges of the Chaos Rings.
In terms longevity the main plot lasts about 10-12 hours, and has extras, including a different and alternative story mode centered in ludicrousness. So you can expect to be playing the game for some time to experience all it has to offer.
The gripes I had with the game were the amount of reused material taken from the previous game, with a similar plot and many of the same assets, and its steep price of 12,99€.
All and all, it is a beautiful game for iOS and Android, with a quality that is on par with the best on the systems.
