My first Prince of Persia.

As someone who has never played a Prince of Persia game, I went into playing this game with literally no expectations. I came out pleasantly surprised. Graphically this game is flat out stunning. It has a very beautiful and unique style to the game that is sort of cell-shaded but not quite. You will continually have your breath taken away by the different areas in the game.

The game play is really enjoyable at first but can become somewhat tedious later on as you do the same things over and over again. The plat-forming is enjoyable throughout, mainly because the game is so pleasant to look at, but eventually you will come to the conclusion that you are doing the same things repeatedly.  You will have to fight the same bosses about four times each which can become a real bummer because the fighting system is probably the weakest part of this game.

The game is on the short side. I finished the main quest in about 10 hours and even though there are other things to do afterwards, you will probably be done once you finish the story.  The story is entertaining most of the way through and I found the ending to be decent. It’s clear that there will be sequels in the not so distant future and I look forward to them.

I was surprised at how much I actually enjoyed this title. I would recommend it to anybody being that it is very accessible and enjoyable throughout. The only downfall is the short length and slight repetition of certain game play elements. Don’t be afraid of giving the Prince a try if you never have before.
