Another short retrospective review about a game I completed through March 2011 in an effort to remember the games I've enjoyed during the year for the end of year game of the year awards.

Visceral Games made a name for themselves when they brought out, Dead Space during 2010, the game was amazingly well refined and this game is no different.

Dead Space 2 follows on the story of the Isaac Clarke a space engineer that had found himself in a less than compromising position in the first game, finds himself in a worse position. No longer on a planet mining space craft he is now on a ship called the Sprawl, a ship with shopping centers, residential quarters, religious churches and a play school. Searching your way through the ship you can see the scrawling on the walls and eerie remnants of what the religious beliefs of the people on board has caused. The usual weapon upgrade nodes and sparse ammunition that keeps you changing your fighting style, and the fighting style is what makes this game above all the rest. With the usual flair your life systems are on the back of Isaac and the many set pieces and action sequences make your hairs on the back of your neck flair up and gives you that jump that this game is so good at.

There is a couple of download-able add ons from different perspectives other than Isaac's which I enjoyed, If you played the first Dead Space you will not be disappointed. In fact I'd be disappointed in you if you didn't play this game, ..so get on with it...

In summary, more Dead Space, enjoy...

'Creepy, controlled and incisive'
