Fortnite2017

4 out of 5 stars

I was a bit late to the party that was Fortnite but with the release of Fortine Chapter 2, I thought that maybe it was time to try my hand at it and... I think I kind of love it. Now let me state point blank that I am absolutely no expert on Battle Royal games. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve tried them all beginning with the old Battle Royal mode for Arma Three, but I never got the hang of things. Compared to other…

Mother Russia Bleeds2016

4 out of 5 stars

Remember when scrolling beat’em’ ups like Final Fight, Double Dragon or Streets of Rage ruled the day? Well, welcome to Mother Russia Bleeds. Developed by Le Cartel Studio and published by Devolver Digital Mother Russia Bleeds feels like a love letter to those games of yesteryear. The story is straight out of a cheesy 80’s action flic and revolves around the soviet government, secret experiments, drugs,…

Florence2018

4 out of 5 stars

Florence isn't a game in the traditional sense but it's also not a visual novel. It's something in between, some kind of unique Ludo-Narrative-Experience that couldn't work anywhere else except on mobile platforms. In Florence, you get to live the story of a twenty-something woman as she lives her daily life until one day she falls in love. As you progress the game uses repetition to show the monotony of everyday…

John Wick Hex2019

3 out of 5 stars

John Wick Hex has arrived, and let me tell you, it kind of left me wondering what this game could have been with a little bit more polish and maybe a couple of extra months of development. The game's original story, credited to the game's designer Mike Bithell, is simple but effective even though it does little to push forward any kind of character development. It gets you from point A to point B and serves as a way…

Control2019

4 out of 5 stars

Control is the latest effort from Remedy Entertainment, and this is a case where the developer's pedigree shows. If you've played games like Alan Wake or Quantum Break, there's not much I can tell you except that the team over at Remedy took what was great from those games and made it much better. Control's story is a fantastic piece of freaky-weird sci-fi and is filled to the brim with little easter eggs, stories…

There's some great shooting in this not so great game.

3 out of 5 stars

Let’s get one thing out of the way: Borderlands 3 has one of the greatest gun-feel of any game ever, being able to rival Destiny in this particular area. Shooting feels great and being a looter-shooter, it is awesome that the devs got that feel spot-on, as well as making sure there's plenty of guns to try out, each having its own weight and feel. Gameplay and overall feel are this game's greatest strengths. The art…
