To sum it up in a sentence, this game was probably one of the biggest turds ever released on the PlayStation. To describe the gameplay, its a bit like a crummy band management simulator mixed with a poor music editor.
The game is as follows. You get to name your pop group whatever you want, recruit up to 5 different popstars and get a record contract. Then you can choose to do things like live performances, training (so you can raise your popstar's stats and hopefully not make something that will sound terrible and will make listeners' ears rupture), buy performing rights to other people's songs or create your own music.
First of all, theres a limited selection of popstars, and they have terrible pop star names. Their character models also look terrible and pretty much all the males and females look strikingly similar. They do however have different stats, so one may be terrible at singing but can dance (apparently) for instance.
Next of all, you start with a limited amount of money for training your popstars so they don't sing or perform terribly, or for buying rights to other's songs or to book gigs. This means that you will straight straight at the bottom of the barrel, and if you spend too much money, you'll go broke.
As for the music editor. Its terrible. You basically slap a few different tracks of pre generated sounds which when done won't really resemble a song. Plus you can't listen to any songs you bought actual ingame money for, or even see them performed. But its not like you'd really want to anyway.
In short, the graphics are bad, the music is bad, and the gameplay is horrible. If you're ever going to play any PlayStation games (for nostalgia purposes of course) then avoid this one like the plague.
