Fire Embem: The Sacred Stones is off the chain. You could easily and happily spend 100 hours playing this. It is polished in graphical and menu design. Combat is rewarding because it's challenging. The new Tower of Valni is a nice addition because it allows you to level your characters away from the campaign or arena. The ability to promote characters into one of two different classes also encourages replay.

If you played any Advance Wars games prior to finding Fire Emblem you may enjoy the differences in their takes on turn based strategy. Knowing that your units can die in battle keeps you on your toes. It makes the victories sweeter and the defeats more devastating. One thing that irks me involves the pace of the game and how long it takes to finish most missions. You'll come across difficult missions take will likely occupy you for the next 40 minutes. And if you fail, that's 80 minutes...or 120 minutes...etc. It's more present in Hard Mode, though Normal difficulty mode has a handful of missions like that as well. At the same time however, the slower pace of the game is addictive. You'll probably fail a mission or two, give up for a day, come back the next and then win a string of five or eight.

Lastly, the style of the characters and environment are well done. Medieval themes and undead go well together.
