For a game that came out in 2008 its held up suprisingly well . Its a typical open world racer and seems to be a response to burnout paradise with some of the design choices they made . What sets this apart from the other racers at that time is the heat meter . Crimes varying from speeding to destroying state property build up your heat meter , and once that reaches a certain point the cops start hunting you down. By using a cop stopper ( i.e falling metal pipes and signs) you can lose the cop.My only complaint is theres no real challenge getting away from the cops . Simply paint your car a diffrent color and you lose heat.It doesnt seem like its to difficult if your manage your heat bar properly, the smooth driving controls allow you to escape quite easily .
The games great sense of speed especially once you get some of the higher end cars and slow motion ability will have you racing like a pro in no time
This game would be a defiant by in my books if you passed this up the first time around.
