This game was truly awe-inspiring, and did wonders considering it was a fresh IP at the time. The game took many simple premises like those of an over the shoulder shooter, and the ability to use cover and expanded on them to a point where they were so intuitive and unique that they are now considered "Gears Mechanics". The multiplayer is adds a new atmosphere to the online shooter genre, and is a refreshingly intense team-based experience.
