Great game, tiny issues.

Split?Second is a very original racer indead.
Pros:
The cars look good and handle well for the most part and come in a variety of "flavors". At first I thought that the power plays were a gimmick. Soon after playing I found the power plays worked well and were infact not gimmicky. The explosive and fiery power plays, shortcuts, and route changers are awesome! The different game modes like Air Revenge (where the player evades missles and gains points which ultimately can be used to fires missles back at the chopper shooting said missles) are very unique and break up the racing nicely. The graphics are really good, especially for power plays. Online plays is very fun but also very frustrating. Controls (handling wise) are Need for Speedish, which I like.

Cons:
I have issues with the lack of difficulty settings first of all. Some races are kinda difficult while others are extremely easy. Small physics glitches occasionally cause my car to jump of the track for no apparent reason, put this problem is very rare. But, probably the biggest problem is the lack of track variety. Towards the end of the game you find yourself racing on the same tracks over and over again. It's not too grinding, but I wish there were more tracks all the same. Lastly, just acouple of the vehicles are damn near worthless.

Conclusion:
If you like racing and want to try something new Split/Second is for you. On the other hand, if your frustrated easily... Split/Second is not a good choice for you.
