Marvel vs Capcom 3 is just crazy. It's an easy game to get into and it's not very complex like Marvel vs Capcom 2 was. There's returning characters and some new characters from both the Marvel and Capcom side. Returning characters are Ryu and Chun-Li. It can't be a Capcom versus game without those two but also Akuma, Morrigan and Felicia, Hulk, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Storm, Sentinel, Doctor Doom and my personal favorite, Wolverine. New characters involve Dante, Viewtful Joe, Amaterasu, Deadpool and another favorite of mine, Zero from the Mega Man X series. The fighting engine is pretty similar to Tatsunoko vs Capcom except you can attack a character while he/she is on the ground for more combos. One cool feature in this game is the mission mode. It's very similar to the trial system found in Street Fighter IV and it's a very helpful feature especially for people who are new to fighting games in general or at least games like this one. I think a lot of fighting games should have this feature for people who want to learn some new techniques for their favorite characters. This game is a definite must-have. Unfortunately, the online modes were better in Super Street Fighter IV. You were able to see replays, watch other people battle it out on lobbies and save your replays. This game doesn't have that. Maybe if there was a patch for it in the future but it's not likely to happen. Other than that, this is not a game to leave on the shelf.
