The boy's Journey

A boy wakes up in a gloomy forest, surrounded by giant trees and a strange atmosphere with almost no sound at all, except the ones made by his footsteps. This is how the game Limbo is presented to us. No dialogues, no introduction, just this. We have no idea what’s on the boy’s mind or why we must go on walking in that strange place but something about all that mystery made me want to play more this game.

As the boy proceed he faces many challenges and puzzles, and I must say that some of them were ****** hard! Indeed, that was fun, games theses days that really test the player’s skills and intelligence are rare to find. On other way you can get frustrated when you found yourself stuck in one of the puzzles.

One of the aspects that i really cherish in the game is that you can feel all the limitations of the character when you’re running from monsters and jumping to escape traps and abysms (that leads him to a creepy and horrendous death… And funny sometimes lol ), after all, he’s just a kid. A fragile human kid and the motion of the game really show this feeling.

And what can I say about the graphics? It’s amazing; all the colors of the game is resumed by shades of black and the white background. This dark atmosphere merges perfectly with the feeling of the game and it don’t get boring as we play, to tell the truth, you don’t even have time to feel bored, since the game length is about 3 ~ 4 hours. A very short game, but is very fun to play.

I don’t want to spoil the endding, but even tough the game have no dialogues at all, the final scene can open your mind to many interpretations of the Boy’s journey and makes you realize why the game is called Limbo.
