Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Review: cash-in disgrace

Following in a long tradition of shitty movie tie in games, half blood prince doesnt let the side down and continues that noble trend. Its based upon the movie which in turn is based upon the book, but is far worse than either and does an awful job of telling the story. There is no narrative here, no engaging the player in the tale. It's told at a very fast pace which leaves the story completely incoherent. Numerous events are left out, and its all very rushed.

Die painfully

The voice acting is awful, with the movie cast largely absent. The lip synching is non-existent, with some hilarious scenes involving long conversations with neither character moving their mouths at all.

Gameplay is pathetic. There is dueling for the combat which is a boring button mash where you can spam attacks to win easily. Then there is the quidditch, which is basically an on rails mini game when it could have been good.

This is all on rails

The majority of the gameplay is potion making.....yes, this is the BULK of the game. You add the ingrediants they tell you to add, within the time limit and thats all there is to it. Its simple, yet boring and frustrating when the bad controls hinder you.

You can collect crests around all 4 areas of the hogwarts school for even more excitment. The controls are awful, with a pathetic gears of war style run, and you have to hold down the shoulder button to look around. The school feels small and lifeless, as does the story and characters. The graphics and sound are awful. The game is 3 hours long. Im not sure who their target audience is here, its too hard for kids and too bad for any1 else, and it rips both off with its incredible lack of content.

Great character models...

Another cash in movie game piece of trash, this game sucks balls.
