Dead Space 2 feels like Visceral Games is very adamant about making a universe out of their survival horror series. Dead Space 2 is interlinked with not only the original but the XBLA game and the DTV movies that have come out in the last two years. The game is very much as spooky, tense and filled with awesome setpieces and sound design that made the original stand out. The only real negatives I can think of is the dank spaceship from the original I found to be a more interesting location (sometimes simplicity and ``less is more`` works). The plot won`t make a lick of sense unless you played the original game and have an understanding of the expanded universe. But, by itself, Dead Space 2 is an entertaining and tense survival horror title that refines but doesn`t necessarily add more to what make the original work. Aside from multiplayer, which is a simple objective based team game where the humans have to retrieve and deliver parts of a machine to fight off the Necromorphs (the team that has to stop them). It`s an interesting idea when everyone isn`t busy going Team Deathmatch which ruins many, many objective-based multiplayer modes. I can`t think of a lot more to say now: it`s a fun game but never felt like a gigantic leap over the original which I hoped to play. Still, highly recommended.
