Newish To The Genre

5 out of 5 starsScore: 100/100

This is my 4th first person shooter and only the second one where multiplayer was a main focus. This is also my first review.

Presentation: I like the idea of a game that honors a nations soldiers who while on a mission, technically do not exist. Those who put their life on the line, not for fame and getting known, but for their country (well... not really) and others. The cover of the box is simplistic but at the same time awesome. Dusty holding a M4A1 carbine (though he does use a MP7 in the game) in black and white colors. This cover in my opinion would not have worked in color. Overall I give this section a 5/5.

Graphics: Coming from someone who's first two FPS's were Starwars Battlefront 1 and 2 this game is mind blowingly awesome in graphics. The explosions are just awesome and on a PC when everything is turned on highest... Wow. I tried playing SWBF1 and 2 after playing this for a week and they both looked terrible compared to this. 5/5 for graphics.

Sound: The sound in this game is phenomenal. You can tell DICE and Danger Close worked hard on the radio noises. In single-player the sounds of the guns, mixed with the radio noises, the shouts of the Taliban and the shouts of your own teammates, and not to forget those epic explosions, make for a highly immersive experience. In the multiplayer the quality of sound continues. If I calculated correctly there are about 185 different sounds just from guns. There are 7 different guns per class, each gun has 8 different sounds (Hip fire/ADS, Stock barrel/Suppressor, Regular bullets/Open tip) which makes 56 sounds per class with 3 classes that makes 168. Then adding in the 2 Limited edition/Pre-order guns (MP7, M60) that brings you to 184. With these 184 possible different sounds going off, mixed with the explosions, people shouting/screaming makes me which I had a home stereo system to hook it up to. If I had the option I would give this a 6/5 for sound, but sadly the max is a 5/5.

Content: If anything in this game is lacking, this is it. My 3rd FPS was Battlefield Bad Company 2, which was also made by DICE. If anything in this game looks rushed this is by far the most noticeable. In BFBC2 there are 45 different guns. In Medal of Honor there are only 23 guns and 2 pistols which you have no choice over. I'm sure there is a good reason for the lack of guns but honestly there can be no good reason to explain the lack of maps. As I was looking through the booklet as the game installed I seriously thought I was missing a page of maps. Hopefully in the future DICE or EA releases more maps though that hope is looking bleak as the community slowly dwindles down. 3.5/5 for content.
