My reviews are really complex but since this game is good but not enough important to give it a full analysis, I'll give a quick panorama on it.

Graphics: it was released in 2006 so it already has four years of life by now. They look good, nice explosions, great looking weapons [except the halo-covenant-like grenade pistol], it also has really nice forest maps. Textures aren't so nice and 3D character models [non-troopers] seem lacking details but it doesn't matter since the only things we should care about are dinosaurs and troopers, both look really nice [especially the dinosaurs, kings of Turok as they should be].

Sound: it's fine, nothing special here. Dinosaurs sound OK if we take Jurassic Park dino sounds as truthful. Explosion sound as explosions; bullets, guns, environments and steps sound as they should too.

Gameplay: it's quite fun and absolutely linear; we are given the faint idea of choice by having to pick different roads up while navigating the map however this choices are generally reduced to two options that will lead to the same destination quickly providing no sense of distinctiveness at all yet some useful ammo and guns can be found on these alternate paths. The action is generally fast paced and enemies are fairly quick to move as well as to target our character. Weapons can be assigned to each arrow of the directional pad: left and right for ammunition guns and up and down for Turok especial weapons, bow and knife. All weapons have two firing modes with the exception of the knife that can be used to kill enemies in a quick-time event fashion, this mode is sometimes used when defending Turok from enemy attacks; the quick-time event can only be immediately triggered when attacking small enemies [troopers, crocodiles and raptor-sized dinosaurs], T-Rexes and bosses activate the QTE in special occasions.

Difficulty: average, some enemies are hard to kill but only those that supposedly should be hard to tackle; the rest go down pretty swiftly [in normal setting]

Time: it is a very straightforward game, on the short side; it can be completed in eight hours specially since I found difficult to drop the controller.

Story: Turok is a former Spec-ops enforcer that had to undergone traumatic training and missions in order to become the perfect trooper; he quit after an incident and now has to bring down the very man that personally trained him because he has gone rogue having set his lair on Dinosaur planet. Turok and his company, which doesn't trust him at all, must descend onto the planet and it is here when things get complicated.

Value: it is an old game so it should be a bargain by now and there are many games less worthy of anyone's money around so I don't see why getting it would entail conflict of interests for anyone.

Opinion: I had fun with it, it is short but not long enough to become boring or tedious allowing anyone to get just the right amount of fun that it can efficiently provide. Multiple fire modes and the possibility to partially sneak onto enemies provided some sort "refreshment" to the straightforward FPS formula. Using the bow isn't special at all but adds some fun to mix since it can allow to perform distance stealth kills and it can also shoot explosive arrows -I haven't used the sniper rifle at all, just the bow-. I'm not a FPS person and I had a good time with this game this why I think it will be quite difficult for anyone else not to have it either.
