The story immerses you like no other, the main storyline behind is that
you play as a character who is given the task of finding the lost heir
to the throne of Tamriel, the empire is crumbling and the gates of
Oblivion opening up across the land with demons marching across the
land. You must unravel the sinister plot that threatens to destroy
everything. The plot builds up from there and it is very engaging and
exciting, trust me!
At the start of the game you are allowed to customise your character.
You can change his or her hair, eyes and facial features. The race of
your character, these range from Nord to Khajit to Wood Elf and plenty
of others. Then you can choose the birth sign and these give you a
boost on a couple of your skills which either you choose. Finally you
can decide which mayor skills you want your character to have, so for
instance, if you want to be a Knight, you will likely choose Heavy
Armour, Blade, Blunt, Hand to Hand, Armourer and Marksman.
Through out the game you will be given side quests from the people in
each town or city and you will have the option to join Guilds. These
are groups of people looking for work and you can join all of them and
complete tasks for them. The different Guilds are, the Fighters Guild,
the Mages Guild, the Thieves Guild & the Dark Brotherhood. Also
there are Daedric Quests where you must complete a quest for all the
Daedric Gods (The Daedra are the creatures which come out of the
Oblivion gates and Mehunes Dagon, the Prince of Darkness is their
leader). The gameplay is simply awesome from riding your horse, slaying
demons with your sword, to create potions using Alchemy. You won't want
to stop playing!
So on to the graphics, to be honest they are not the best for the Xbox
360 but they are one of the best. From the snowy mountain tops, to the
lust green woodland, this game world is a great sight to be hold! The
character face texture & the attention to detail in every house,
castle, cave, ruin and shrine make this the most realistic medieval
world I have ever seen.
The audio and voice acting is tremendous, with the lip synching to
match, when you have a conversation with any in game character.
Bethesda Softworks really have put everything in to this game.
There are some pretty long loading times and when your in the
wilderness you will be interrupted by a occasional loading message, but
these, to me, do not matter at all.
I encourage you to buy the extra content from Xbox Live Marketplace,
because on top of the 200 hour of play time you will get from this it
is an absolute pleasure to have more.
I will stop now and I beg you to buy this game because it is a gem in the crown of Microsoft.
