Kirby's Epic Fail?

I'm a big fan of Kirby. I have been since I was 6 years old and played Kirby's Dream World for the first time on my Super Nintendo. I love sucking on my bad guys so that I can become their powers. I love to fly by puffing up my cheeks and then I go up. However I have a beef to pick with Kirby Epic Win. While it might be considered by some to be a cool game on it's own, It's just not a Kirby game!.
 
The gameplay is kind of confused. Normally in a Kirby game I can eat a dude and then that lets me throw a cutter. But in this one it didn't let me eat anyone's dude. It's as if they took a Mario game and didn't let him jump! It's like Megaman who can't shoot! It's like Samus  crying when she sees Ridley! It just makes no sense! So defenseless and unable to advance I lost all 38 of my lives on the first screen of the first stage. Very frusturating!
 

  The graphics are nice however. As you can see in this screenshot Kirby and friends look exactly how you would expect them to on their new Wii departure. Kirby is soft and spongey while Elephant is still being a big green jerkazoid. I don't know who that blue waddle dude is though, he must be in level 2. But the game looks beautiful and the backgrounds resemble a painting done by Shigeru "Kirby" Carmack himself! I can't praise the graphics enough. They alone saved the game from a 1 star rating.

I do wish that they left Kirby's power stealing abilities in though. Looking at the later levels of this game it appears really fun! But I can't get that far because they crippled the player to the point of no return. I haven't even been able to progress to the part of the game where Kirby stops being made of yarn and gets his puffy puff belly back. It's really confusing the direction they decided to go with this game. I can only hope the next Kirby game takes these criticisms to heart.
 
Overall, 3 out of 5. Only because these graphics are so pretty. Look at that pile of Kirbies.
