In all honesty, this is possibly the worst idea for a video game ever. Let's not kid ourselves here, making a movie out of Street Fighter, we were asking for a craptacular time at the theaters. Now to make a video game version that rips off Mortal Kombat graphics and cram in combos and moves familiar to SFII diehards; that's just asking for it.

It's a shame that it gets such a bad rap, because it's not at all a bad game. Hell, it's decently fun once you get past the bad music and shoddy graphics. The core fighting in this game is taken from Super Street Fighter II Turbo, and because of that the actual gameplay is fairly balanced and fun. You've got your hadokens and your sonic booms along with a crazy, over the top combo system that not at all resembles anything from Capcom's legendary series. It's simplified and rewards button mashers a bit more than you would like, yet still the core gameplay is strong enough that you won't care too much. Not that I would choose this over Turbo or any of its successors, but Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game (hell of a title, isn't it?) is lightyears ahead of something like Clay Fighter or any other Fighter rip-off of the past decade and a half.

When it comes down to it, you'll be entertained by this game, and that's what your looking for when you play a fighting game with Jean Claude Van Damme's face plastered over the cabinet. Now if only they made a Universal Soldier game...
