Infamous 2 is the follow up to Sucker Punches’ excellent Infamous. Cole
is back with a new challenge, new powers and a superb game.
The main component of the game is a third person shooter with an excellent climbing engine added in. It maintains the feel of the original game while still improving upon it in a meaningful way. The whole game flows really well. You will go from flying along a train line to blasting some dude into the air and then beating down monsters with an electric club and transitioning smoothly between them. You will find that you will be spending a lot of time shooting people in the head with electricity but it never gets old as they are always introducing new powers and enemies.

The biggest problem with the combat in this game is that you will
begin to suffer from the problem of fighting against large numbers of
dudes with rocket launchers that knock you down when you are hit. This
becomes a problem when you get stuck on the ground being shot by rockets
until you are dead and there is nothing you can do. This is endlessly
frustrating but once you die you respawn very close to where you were
and you can go in a different way to try and avoid this happening.
The climbing is still feels good but with games like assassins creed pushing climbing in games it feels a bit behind the curve with you constantly having to mash x to climb the building. After the ease of just holding a single button in Assassins creed it feels trying to do.

It is a decent looking game but has some issues. Sometimes when you
are facing opponents that move around fast, sometimes they will get
stuck with a REALLY low resolution texture of them with clearly visible
pixels at the edge which is very distracting. Despite the issues with
the visuals, there are some cool looking tricks that the game pulls off
during some of its special events.
You can make moral decisions in this game that affect a few things
such as the appearance of your Cole. It also defines the way your powers
evolve. If you go down the evil path you will get some explosive
powers while if you go good, you get more precise powers.
This is a game that lives up to the legacy of the predecessor while building on it in some meaningful and inventive ways.
