This doesn't include any spinoffs or portable/mobile versions, just the main, numbered series. Furthermore, I didn't include II or III because I haven't played them.

Still haven't played a game that captivated me the way FFVI did. Suplex the Phantom Train, don't leave Shadow on the Floating Continent, get the Ragnarok materia.
The polygonal graphics haven't really aged well at all, but this is still a classic. Probably the first "mainstream" JRPG in the US. I remember picking my jaw up off the floor when Sephiroth killed Aeris. Also, who could forget the unspeakable horrors at the Honeybee Inn?! I am still waiting for the Knights of the Round summon to finish...
Who the fuck is Zemus? Wait...ZEROMUS? What the hell is going on? I miss Golbez.
OK, so the voice acting was kind of annoying. Yes, the sphere grid sucked. Still, this game was a blast to play. Also, I liked Blitzball...
Almost certainly a backlash from the awfulness of VIII, this installment took fewer risks and didn't stray from classic FF gameplay. This game trades in pure nostalgic bliss. Loved it.
Here lies Erdrick. Did you find WarMech and live to tell the tale? I DOUBT IT. This game is pretty sparse, and is a difficult grind-fest, but undoubtedly broke some ground.
The bad dude's name is X-Death! How 90's is THAT?! Fuck this game.
After the brilliance of FFVII, I had such huge expectations for this. What I got was super long and annoying summon sequences and the over complicated "junction" system. This game sucks.
MMO's basically suck. This sucked even for an MMO. Goddamn, this game was a garbage fire. Blech. Shouldn't even be a main, numbered FF game.
