My Games of 2017

by betterinsodapop

I didn't really play very many games that were released in 2017, but these are those that I did play.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Not to sound like an edgelord, but I really haven't enjoyed Zelda since Wind Waker. I can't even say BotW is a return to form, because Zelda never had this form. Simply, this is the best Zelda game to date, which when you consider the iconic and justifiably LEGENDary status of the series, is really saying something.

OK, I didn't finish this game, but... what I did play was really magical. Made me feel very swept up in the world of Nier. When I finally find time, I'm going to dive back in!

Such a great, unexpected surprise. I'm so glad I went into this blind, and suggest that anybody planning to play it does the same. It's only a 3 hour game, but it is very much worth that time. Also, it's FREE! Go play DDLC!!! Also: consider buying some merch or the digital bonus pack; these folks deserve $ for this great game.

Overwatch

Overwatch

I realize that Overwatch is a 2016 game, but it evolved a lot and had lots of new content, and such was a changed game in 2017 from the game of 2016. I'm keeping it there. It feels fresh and fun.

WWE 2K18

WWE 2K18

OK, it's not a technical masterpiece. It runs like shit: very frame-y, glitchy, rife with annoying DLC, but... it's damn fun with a few friends. I've had a TON of fun playing this w/my friends, and we spend the entire time screaming and talking shit. Such fun.
