BBAlpert's 2015 GotY-travaganza!

In no particular order, a list of maybe 10-ish games that came out in 2015 that I thought were real fun to play.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I can kind of see how some people might not have been keen on how this series wrapped up, but it's by FAR the best GAME in the entire Metal Gear franchise (though an argument could be made for MGR)

The Book of Unwritten Tales 2

The Book of Unwritten Tales 2

I had a bit of a rough spot with a progress-stopping bug (which has since been patched out), but TBoUT2 is a big, satisfying chunk of core point-and-click adventure game goodness.

Kerbal Space Program

Kerbal Space Program

This game has been "out" forever but it was officially "released" (version 1.0) in late April, 2015. So kudos to you, KSP!

Cities: Skylines

Cities: Skylines

This game led me down a dark path that at one point involved bookmarking a German database of Autobahn interchanges.

Undertale

Undertale

This is a game that I highly recommend, but won't say why. It's a game that I love dearly but can absolutely see how critical hype and overselling can lead to disappointment if played only out of obligation.

BoxBoy!

BoxBoy!

This one came seemingly out of nowhere. It's a beautifully paced game. CONSTANTLY introducing new mechanics but never requiring the use of so many at once that it becomes overwhelming. Not the long enough to wear out its welcome, but not so short that I was left unsatisfied.

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number

The game certainly has problems, especially when compared to HLM1, but FUCK did they knock it out of the park with the soundtrack and design!
