This is top 3 of the games I enjoyed/played the most within a specific decade of my life and obviously are subjective to whatever games I had access to/what consoles I had along with whatever my specific tastes and interests were at that given point in my life etc, etc, etc. It is also not based on release of game but on the time of my life in which I played them.
To be honest at this point games have been as much for escapism as for entertainment/appreciation, but in my defense I am also fully disabled and don't exactly have a job/family/pass time to which I can commit myself or exercise any serious level of ambition toward. Having something that I love to do and can use to escape the pain and boredom isn't a bad thing and my only lament is that for the time being I don't have many other hobbies to serve the same purposes. Yet.

Both this game and rebirth took up a significant amount of my time and I loved them. I even went so far as to try and learn racing the game against others until the psychological stresses (lots of difficult split second decisions) and bad posture clashed with my worsening physical problems and rendered me unable to play the game any more.
Short but beautiful. This will always be among the best games I have ever played. The storytelling/narration along with the surprises the game throws at you make it a masterpiece.
Dark Souls convinced me this was my kind of game and while very few weapons appealed to me, and playing alone never appealed to me I eventually found a good group and quite enjoyed using Hunting Horn. Eventually my chronic pain made it such that playing games like this on a handheld were no longer an option but thankfully Monster Hunter World will be on consoles and PC.
