Games I played 2015 Edition

by sgtsphynx

Making this the third year in a row that I am keeping track of games I buy, play, and/or beat throughout the year with short thoughts (usually a sentence.)

Showing 1-10 of 35 items

The LEGO Movie Videogame

1. The LEGO Movie Videogame

Not a bad game, though I never want to hear that fucking song again. Beaten January 2

Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell

2. Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell

I am willing to forgive the lack of true story missions due to the insane story scenes. Beaten January 25.

The Unfinished Swan

3. The Unfinished Swan

Fun little game, love the aesthetic. Beaten Feb. 7

The Book of Unwritten Tales 2

4. The Book of Unwritten Tales 2

I enjoyed the writing in this game quite a bit, though it definitely has that middle chapter of a trilogy feel to the ending. Hope they make a third game to complete the story. Beaten Feb 28

NaissanceE

5. NaissanceE

Uh, what? Beaten March 8

Betrayer

6. Betrayer

Weird game. Beaten March 14

Ori and the Blind Forest

7. Ori and the Blind Forest

This is one of those games where the good parts are so good that the bad parts stand out that much more. The game is gorgeous, and exploring to find the collectibles is very fun. The story is pretty good as well. But the sequences at the end of each dungeon are aggravating given they are minutes long, require precision platforming, and have zero checkpoints. Nothing is more frustrating than making it to the end of one of these sections and missing a jump or being half a second slow in one of the chase sequences, and having to start the entire sequence over. Also, the fact that I cannot continue my completed file to get the last of the collectibles is unacceptable. Beaten March 16

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter

8. The Vanishing of Ethan Carter

This is a dark fucking game. Beaten March 19

CounterSpy

9. CounterSpy

Fun game, gets really difficult the longer you play. Beaten March 20

Cities: Skylines

10. Cities: Skylines

Don't know that you can ever actually "beat" this game, but I bought it the week it came out and have enjoyed what I have played, though I still don't understand some of the systems that cause traffic and how that affects every other system in my city, or how exactly to overcome the traffic.
