The Game Awards 2022 have gone down as, probably, the craziest edition ever. Literally anything could happen at that show! Big reveals, crazy flutes, weird surprises; you never knew what was gonna happen next. It was the ride of a lifetime.
Most of all, I think this is the only edition where I came out of it feeling positive about the majority of it. I'm trying to scale back on the negative approach. There are definitely a dozen things about the event that I deeply, authentically hate. At this point, though, why even bother pointing it out? No one wants to hear it.
What people do love hearing is lists!
That's why I'm gonna rank every game that was announced, more or less. SpongeBob is coming to Fall Guys, but I don't think that's really a relevant item. Almost everything else is making the cut! I'm doing it, if only to know which game truly won me over the most. Like I said, this was the first time where I was at least interested in most of the announcements. That's kind of a big deal.
So here are the games from The Game Awards 2022! We're starting with the best, the ultimate winner, down to the not so great, maybe.

It was a tough choice, because there were many home runs, but I can't wait for this game. The first Space Marine holds a special place in my heart. It's one of the best shooters ever created and illicited an amazing response from Ryan Davis in the Quick Look. This looks ready for primetime. This is gonna rule!
Vampire Survivors is on phones now and that's all I ever wanted. I mean, I always wanted free time, but that's gone now, because I've already done several runs. Surprisingly, phones can survive the late game onslaught. That's an achievement in itself. Undeniably, this is the game of the year.
Well... I didn't expect that. In fact, no one expected this, because they would've closed the show with this From Software game, if they had anticipated the response. Finally, we get a new mech game. The possibilities are endless, but with the scope they can afford now, this is going to be epic. I literally started playing Armored Core V right after the show.
The good Dark Souls game is back. I loved the first, but it looks like they're cleaning up the 'eurojank' for the second installment, which sounds like a winner in my book. They're leaning hard into the twisted atmosphere. Hopefully, people will actually give this its flowers, this time.
Wow, they've been keeping busy, huh? I didn't expect this one to blow me away, but Baldur's Gate looks better than ever. Truly, this feels like the epic magnitude a name like that deserves. It's been quite some time coming. I'll admit, that collector's edition also looks pretty damn good.
Supergiant is still doing cool things. They only do things that are cool. I wasn't expecting a full sequel, let alone one that got announced this quickly. I'll take it, though. I don't think anyone here is complaining about getting more of this beautiful game.
I've said this a lot now, but yes; I was definitely not expecting more Bayonetta. The art of this game is absolutely incredible and differentiates itself from the main games, as a spinoff should. I didn't even think I really wanted more Bayonetta, but this proved me wrong.
Unlike most people, I liked what We Happy Few was trying to do. This looks like that game got shoved in some kind of Breath of the Wild format. There's no way that I won't like this; it's pure class.
Good on the developers for sticking with the Remnant games. Although there's nothing wrong with the first one, I guess they just needed a fresh start. This game is going to be good, no doubt, but they might need to time it just right.
Speaking of timing: When this was announced alongside The Outer Worlds and more Fallout games, it looked derivative as hell. Atomic Heart made the biggest turnaround for me. When given room to breathe, I think this game might be awesome now! It's half Bioshock, half Fallout. Just don't release too close to competitors and you'll be fine.
