I didn't do a list last year and frankly I wasn't going to do one on Giant Bomb this year either because I've circled back around to preferring to play games over writing about them without getting paid.
But, Steam keeps drawing me back with all the ways it gives me to express my views on games. It's more succinct there, but really gets me wanting to make a list so I made my 2020 list of Steam games this year on Steam. Then I decided, hell I've really been enjoying The Switch over the past 3 years and I want to be able to acknowledge that.
So then I just made this huge list of games I really liked over 2019 and 2020
I played several hundred games over the past 2 years. Here are the ones I remember that I played that I recommend anyone to check out
I'm not going too in depth like I usually do. But I will highlight where to get them (where it makes sense) because like all nerds with nostalgia and a habit I am a corporate shill. Just accept it. You are too.

I'm still not into these games, BUT it's really cool how many characters are in the roster. It kinda felt like as a gamer I just HAD to play it . I don't know why I felt that way.
This is a cool PS4 remaster.
Not a great game (there's too much busy work) but it's got a cool look, and the platforming is fun. This one is everywhere so I recommend getting it on GOG unless you only have a console in which case only God can forgive you now.
I completed this game before, but shock of all shocks they re-released it on GOG and I got to play it again because I lost my game disc somehow. The good games always disappear to friends that don't give it back. GOG has it. Go get it right away, and see how cool it is to shoot bad guys in the dick over and over and over.
You can get it everywhere. I recommend getting it on sale so you can get 1 and 2 so you can import 1 into 2 and play 1 and 2 in the same engine which is the second games engine which has more improved graphics. It's actually fairly short so it even makes more sense to buy both of them together.
My personal favorite Final Fantasy, so yes I have played it before, however they made a new port for PC and I recommend it. It's not a remake, it's a port (I feel like people no longer know the difference), but it's a good port and this is a good Final Fantasy which I'm sure you've heard a thousand times. It's on steam. If you have the time I recommend it.
This originally released as a Kinect game on the XBOX 360 100 and 32 years ago. Then, they quietly released it on steam (its probably on the Windows store too, I don't know- do you care?) as a third person game. I really like the idea of going to an amusement park in a "simulator" style video game and my only complaint with it is that I wish the rides were more like the real rides and less just mini games, but it's still a fun way to interact with Disneyland when you cant go there for real. Especially right now, I highly highly recommend it. They need to add Captain Eo. Just saying.
You already know this game is awesome, and last year I played it too.
Cool game, but gets tedious. Like all "metroid-vania" like games. Only maybe worse because of the nature of the pinball concept they jammed into the games mechanics.
