Games I've spent an unreasonable amount of time with.

by sdoots

Have you ever invested a ludicrous amount of time into a game? It doesn't happen much. Usually you'll play through the story, have fun with the multiplayer for a while, and move on to the next game. You also probably have a few games you play regularly, in between the next new release. And if you're like me, there's another tier of games altogether. The ones you were so enthralled with that you could not stop playing. The new shooter could wait, you had another 400 hours of Oblivion in you. This list is about those games, in no particular order, and odds are I'll keep adding to it as I remember others.

Resident Evil 4

Resident Evil 4

I played through the campaign about 12 times, and another 4 times using various bonus items like the infinite rocket launcher and the chicago typewriter. I completed both of the Ada campaigns about 3 times, and I got the highest rank possible on every level in Mercenaries.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Not including any of the DLC, I had 800 hours on my main character. Including DLC, that number was more like 1000 hours.

Mega Man X4

Mega Man X4

I played this at least once a day when I was a kid. I have no idea how many hours I spent on it, but I'd estimate close to 100. The best Mega Man game, in my opinion.

Team Fortress Classic

Team Fortress Classic

Another game I played a lot when I was younger. My brother bought the Half Life Platinum Collection, so whenever he wasn't playing Counter Strike I was playing TFC. I lost my CD key, so when I finally got on Steam years later I wasn't able to continue my concussion-jumping days.

Team Fortress 2

Team Fortress 2

2500 hours . I forget the exact number, but I know it's higher than that.

Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening

Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening

Completed the game on every difficulty, and with the exception of Dante Must Die I had S ranks on all of the missions on every difficulty.

Borderlands

Borderlands

My in game save showed 30 days. I used a save editor to undo a quest that had gotten bugged after someone did a glitch in my game so that I could get the last achievement for 100%.

Doom

Doom

Platinumed the PS4 version within 2 weeks of release, now playing the PC version and intend to 100% it there too.

Doom

Doom

I don't know how many times I've finished this on Ultraviolence, but it's an absurd amount. I keep coming back to it both for the standard experience, and for the crazy custom WADs people continue to create, like DemonSteele and Russian Overkill.

Quake III Arena

Quake III Arena

In regular, Team, and Live flavors.
