The Shittest Games of 2012

by lazyaza

BAH time for some raw focused hatred, Asura would be proud of me. Here's the games that pissed me off the most this year.

Some of these are actually terrible, some were just incredibly disappointing, all of them made me angry to some degree regardless. These aren't in any particular order so bleh.

Assassin's Creed III

1. Assassin's Creed III

The prologue character was more interesting, Conner more fun before he gets his gear and some how a side game ended up being the funnest new gameplay while all the things AC has done great previously was tossed aside and neglected. Maybe I'll finish it, maybe.

Blades of Time

2. Blades of Time

Had to review this piece of shit, what a god damn awful game, like god of war but if Mr Burns' room full of retarded typwriter monkeys were responsible.

Resident Evil 6

3. Resident Evil 6

PROBABLY WON'T EVEN EVER PLAY THE DEMO BUT FUCK YOU CAPCOM FOR EVERYTHING THIS IS AND REPRESENTS. Edit: After actually playing it ah it had some fun n dumb moments, especially while in co-op but wow what a step back.

Twisted Metal

4. Twisted Metal

Who'd have thought incredibly dated and convoluted controls, frustratingly asinine level design and forced awful game modes would make a classic simple concept so hard to enjoy.

Nexuiz

5. Nexuiz

God how hard is it to make a classic 90s style twitch shooter. Apparently incredibly hard because Nexuiz just isn't fun to play at all and geezus is the name stupidly spelled.

Super Monday Night Combat

6. Super Monday Night Combat

Omg between the insanely bloated patches, the lag, the broken matchmaking, every weapon feeling weak as shit, every attack feeling weak as shit, the complete lack of decent tutorial man, makes me wonder why I liked the Dota genre to begin with.

Dota 2

7. Dota 2

Speaking of the dota genre, this isn't even technically "out" yet and I'm already sick of it. How on earth does Gabe stay so addicted to a game that feels as vague as the original mod and yet somehow I feel like I'm the only person in the world who still can't figure out how to "play right".

Orcs Must Die! 2

8. Orcs Must Die! 2

I don't know how but the difficulty and complexity in this sequel was ramped up so much over the original it forgot what that first game did so well. I suspect its balanced and designed for co-op which despite having several friends who own it I seem to never be able to get a game of so fuck it.
